ATTENTION LADIES: Any women interested in Pistol Shooting this summer should contact Wendy at 563-370-0963. We are trying to set up a league.

Members are allowed to shoot from sunrise to sunset every day of the year. In winter the rifle range will be open.

Membership Safety & Orientation (S&O) occurs usually on the last Wednesday of most months (April-October) at 6:00 P.M. at the club, located 12364 Coon Hunter Road, Blue Grass, Iowa, 52726. MAP Check the calendar for specific dates.

Monthly Board Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 P.M. at Hickory Garden Family Restaurant located at 3311 Hickory Grove Road, Davenport, Iowa. MAP


CMP Service Rifle Match

  • What is allowed to shoot: M1 Grand, AR 15 and others. Please call match director for extended list.

  • No optical sights and not sportized

  • Equipment that you will need: rifle, clips or magazines, eye and ear protection, and chamber safety flags

  • From OHGC M1 rifle and ammo available

  • Course of fire: distance 200 yards

  • Prone position: 6 rounds sighting

  • Off hand standing: 10 rounds

  • Rapid fire sitting 10 rounds

  • Rapid fire prone: 10 rounds

  • Slow fire prone: 20 rounds

Centerfire Benchrest at Oak Hill Gun Club

  • 7 minutes allowed per Match

  • 5—5 Shot Matches at 100 yards

Silhouette

  • This shoot allows you to shoot 22 long rifle and pistol

  • All sites are accepted and everything is shot off hand.

  • This match allows the shooter to shoot 10 rounds at each of the 40, 60, 80 and 100 yard targets.


Vintage Bolt Rifle Match

  • You can shoot any military bolt rifle with original sights: Springfield, Mauser, Enfield, K-31, Mosin and others

  • No optical sights or sporterized versions

  • Equipment needed: weapon, ammo, stripper clips, shooting mat, eye and ear protection, and chamber safety flags

  • Along with the entry fee, you must have a membership with any other gun club or to the NRA.

  • Course of Fire:
    Distance 200 yards
    Prone Position 15 minutes
    5 sighting rounds
    10 rounds slow fire
    Prone position 90 seconds
    10 rounds rapid fire
    Standing 10 minutes
    10 rounds slow fire

.22 Rimfire Benchrest Match

  • 2 classes of shooting:

    • Formal: American rimfire assocation match
      General ARA rules for ARA targets, 25 shots each at 50 yards, 20 minutes per target
      Very few restrictions on ammo, gun, or rest except that ammo must be .22LR
       

    • Informal: Informal matches are for every type of .22 LR rifle
      You are to shoot one ARA target, 25 shots, at 25 yards in 20 minutes. Any standard velocity or high velocity .22 ammo can be used. Windflags are allowed. Unlimited re-entries allowed.
      No hypervelocity ammo, benchrest style stocks or barrel tuners are allowed. Rest cannot be connected to rifle.

      There are 3 informal class divisions: factory sporter, vintage small bore, and semi-auto

Trap

  • You begin with 5 shooters at 5 stations, which there is 5 shots from each station. 1 round = 25 shots

  • There is also money rounds:

    • Brother in law: you draw a number from 1-10 so each partner is at random. There is 2 men at each station. If you call for hte bird and happen to miss your partner is allowed to shoot and pick up the point. 1 round = 20 shoots
       

    • Oakley: there is no specific number of shooters tha can particiapte in this match. There is 3 emn ready to shoot, the first man calls for the bird, if he misses, the 2nd man must try and hit the bird. The 3rd man just has the option to shoot. When a shooter gets 2 bumps then they are out. The oaklye goes on til 1 man is left standing.
       

  • This match is every Wedneday night beginning at 4:00 P.M. April through October
     

  • The Club House offers hot dogs $1, brats $1.50, pop and bottled water for 50 cents


Bowling Pin Shoot

  • 3 divisions: pistol, revolver, rimfire .22 all open classes (any modifications)

  • Objective: shoot 5 pins off of a 8'x4' table any order from 21 feet in 15 seconds

  • Pistol 8 rounds with 1 reload, revolver no limit, rimfire no limit

  • Entry fee includes 2 tables with fastest time recorded

  • Unlimited re-entries are available

  • Lowest recorded time in each division is awarded a cash prize

Black Powder Shoot (also called Muzzle Loading)

  • This shoot is all off hand and there is no scopes that can be used

  • There are 3 different distances you can shoot: 25 yards, 50 yards, and 100 yards

  • All re-entries will be shot at the 25 yard target

  • There are many differnt targets to shoot at: bull's eye, squirrel, ground hog, bird, fox, bear and buffalo

  • Black Powder Shoots take place once a month from April - October
